Bootleg t-shirts: familiar logos and cultural shorthand, redrawn with a twist that says something the original never would.

Bootleg

Borrowed look, different message.

Our Bootleg collection sits where streetwear, parody and cultural commentary overlap. Recognisable at a glance, different on the second look.

Read the Bootleg story

Parody, not imitation

Bootleg tees have been part of streetwear for decades: unofficial tour merch, knock-off sportswear, rap tees run off in somebody's garage and now worth more than the official ones ever were. We work in that tradition rather than reproducing it. Each design borrows a shape you already recognise and changes the message underneath it. Nothing here is official, licensed, endorsed or connected to anyone.

What is in the collection

The ADHDas series reclaims a familiar three-stripe layout for the neurodiverse, as a front print or a full backprint. Nice Tick swaps a well-worn message of athletic aspiration for something a good deal more pleasant, again in front and backprint versions. Each one has a reason behind it, part serious, part purely for the laugh.

Limited by nature

Bootlegs date quickly, which is half of the appeal. Designs come and go with whatever is worth commenting on, so the line-up is never the same twice. New drops land without warning. Keep your eyes peeled.

These are parody designs, unofficial and unaffiliated. We are not pretending to be anyone else and we are not claiming anyone’s endorsement. The joke only works because you know the reference, and the point is the twist, not the copy.

Limited, ever-changing, and only from Its.That. Starting from £26.

Bootleg T-shirts: your questions answered

What does "Bootleg" mean in fashion?

Bootleg fashion is the tradition of creating unofficial parodies and reimaginings of established brand aesthetics. It has roots going back decades in streetwear culture: take something instantly recognisable and give it a twist that says something new, something funny, or something at a total tangent.

Why these bootleg designs specifically?

We pick cultural references that deserve a second look. The ADHDas series reclaims an iconic logo for the neurodiverse community. Nice Tick swaps a certain brand's message of athletic aspiration for something more universally, well, nice. Each design has a reason behind it, part serious part just for a laugh.

How do you approach parody?

Every design is an original parody, drawn by us, that changes the message rather than copying the mark, and none of it is sold as official merchandise. We think carefully about what we make and how we make it, and we will always respond to a concern raised by a rights holder.

How much is delivery?

UK delivery is £4.99, and free on orders over £50. Everything is printed to order, which takes 2 to 4 working days, then delivered 1 to 3 working days later: 3 to 7 working days in all. The full details are on our Shipping & Returns page.

Are your parody tees official or licensed?

No, and they are not meant to be. Every design here is an unofficial parody with no affiliation to, endorsement by or connection with any brand referenced. The humour depends entirely on you knowing it is not the real thing.

Do you do vintage or 90s rap tee style prints?

That heavy, oversized backprint look is exactly where this collection comes from. The ADHDas and Nice Tick backprints use the same small-front, big-back layout that made 90s bootleg tour and rap tees what they are.

Why do designs disappear?

Bootlegs respond to what is happening, so they have a short shelf life by design. We drop them, run them while they land, then move on. If one goes, it is unlikely to come back in the same form.

Can I suggest a bootleg design?

You can, and people do, over on Instagram at @its_._that. We will not make anything that passes itself off as genuine, or that goes after an individual rather than a brand, but a good idea with a proper twist has a decent chance.
