What does "Bootleg" mean in fashion?
Bootleg fashion is the tradition of creating unofficial parodies or reimagining sof established brand aesthetics. It has roots going back decades in streetwear culture - taking something instantly recognisable and giving it a twist that says something new, something funny, or something at a total tangent.
Why these bootleg designs specifically?
We pick cultural references that deserve a second look. The Adhdas series reclaims an iconic logo for the neurodiverse community. The Nice Tick replaces a certain brand's message of athletic aspiration with something more universally.. well, Nice.
Each design has a reason behind it, part serious part just for a laugh.
Are bootleg t-shirts legal to sell?
Our designs are parody and commentary, which is a recognised form of fair use in creative and fashion contexts. They are transformative works - the point is the twist, not the imitation.
